Esperanza rising
An incredible book about a young Mexican girl whose father is murdered, forcing her wealthy family to move to the United States. Esperanza’s life changes quickly before her eyes, and she learns to work exceptionally hard. A wonderful introduction for those interested in the Mexican-American experience and the history of labor.
